THE ARTIST PROJECT: Barbara Bloom On Vilhelm Hammershøi's Moonlight, Strandgade 30

"This actually is a depiction of something that we don’t know, that’s right there all the time." How can you depict something that is not there? Barbara Bloom is held by this very concept as she stares into one of the many lonely and loving interior paintings by Vilhelm Hammershøi's. The painting asks her to not ask what is happening in the room, not to question its purpose, but to observe the space as the artist intended it to be seen.
