The reading room of the Department of Manuscripts is one of the first reading rooms of the Bibliothèque nationale de France to reopen its doors to the public on 15 December 2016 following its renovation. Isabelle Le Masne de Chermont, Director of the Department of Manuscripts, briefly presents the history of this room, and retraces the major stages of its restoration.
