Isamu Noguchi's Playscapes
Noguchi’s Playscapes, presented at the Museo Tamayo from 11 May to 9 October 2016, focused on the artist’s vision of playgrounds and the public space. Revisiting some of Isamu Noguchi’s key ideas on how to discuss play, recreation and education, the exhibition provoked reconsideration of these categories within the sense of community that exists in our times. This was the first exhibition in the world that brought together over 50 years of research by the American artist, including scale models, sketches, architectural drawings and photographs, along with reconstructions of playful sculptural and functional spaces.
